7:00pm at the No.1 Buffet on Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood. The
complete buffet meal and a soft drink for $ 9.10. Beer is available for
purchase. Please RSVP to Lori Fisher (763-6370) by Thursday, September
19th if you can join us to get reacquainted and catch-up!

are voting on changing the name of the club to: Jamestown Social Club
and will open our membership to the general public. If you cannot
join us on Friday, September 20th and would like to vote by proxy, call
any board member today. Majority rules. |

What's
New for 2002-2003 Season
With the exception of the Preschool Group,
all other segments of the Jamestown Newcomer’s Club (i.e.: Dinner
Group, Craft Group, Sports Group, Movie Night, Ladies Night Out, etc.)
will no longer need an individual chairwoman. These will function
as Monthly Events for the entire club.
The Preschool Group will continue to operate
as an individual segment and be arranged by Preschool Coordinators.
Contact Cindy Chang (483-1950) or Kim Malarkey (487-0617) if you want to
be notified of the activities planned.
We will have a stronger focus on couples social
events and to increase communication, we will include spouses
names, employers and e-mail addresses in the Membership Directory.
This will encourage friendships and additional interaction between
members.
Monthly Newsletters would be noticeably
shorter and would be e-mailed, and posted on the Newcomer’s website or
faxed in most cases. This would eliminate the need for advertising
to offset the postage and copying expense.

Family Dues
Annual Family Dues remain at $ 20.00 - mail
in your form or you may register online at www.newcomers.2ya.com.
Note: to be included in the Membership
Directory, your application and dues must be received by September 30,
2002. Make your check payable to The Jamestown Newcomer’s Club
and mail to Judi Goerke, 3280 Moon Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.

Sat, October 5, 9am
Shopping in Grove City, PA. Over 150 Prime Outlet stores at
our fingertips! Approximately 2 hours from Jamestown. We
plan to leave Jamestown at 9 am (carpooling is encouraged) and arrive in
Grove City at 11 am. Shop for several hours and return to Erie to
have dinner together. Some people are planning to stay over in
Erie and shop at the Millcreek Mall on Sunday. Talk to a friend
and see who wants to go have a ladies shopping day or weekend.
Sat, October 19, 6 - 10pm
Couples October Social Event is a Wine and Appetizer Party at the
Sheldon House. Couples are asked to bring an appetizer to share
and a bottle of wine or beer. No RSVP needed. Call any board
member for more details or directions, if necessary.
Sat, November 16, 6pm
Couples Wild Game Dinner at the home of Dan and
Dawn Lai in Bemus Point. You must RSVP to the Lai’s (386-5397)
by Thurs, November 14th and you will be given directions to their home
and are asked to bring a dish to share.
Sat, November 30, 6pm
Couples Christmas Party at Moonbrook Country Club.
