At the Reg Lenna Civic Center is a production called "The
Unsinkable Ladies of the Titanic". This performance
is a "one-woman monologue" of the women who survived the
sinking and the remarkable lives they had afterward. The play is
based on actual diaries, letters and interviews as it brings to life
eight famous figures including Madeline Astor, the teen-age bride of
John Jacob Astor, one of the wealthiest men in America. The
stories of these women are created and performed by award-winning
actress Deborah Jean Templin.
We can reserve a block of tickets ($18.50 each) and those who attend
can pick them up at the box office just prior to the performance.
(If at the last minute, you have a conflict, you will not be
committed to the ticket). We do, however, want to try to get a
fairly accurante count of tickets to reserve. RSVP to Judi Goerke or
Fran Christie, if you are planning to join us so we can call the box
office with the number of tickets to put aside for our group. If
you'd like more details about the play, call the Reg Lenna Civic
Center at 484-7070. We are also talking about having a casual
dinner downtown prior to the performance. Give us your thoughts on a
good dinner location.
